Summer Tour

As part of my mission to share joy and laughter and music, I’m starting to put together a summer “Let’s Feel Better” Substack tour.

I’m calling it a “Substack Tour” because, rather than schedule traditional concert venues, I’d like you, my Substack readers, to be the core of this venture.

The venues will be YOUR venues.

As in, your houses, your patios, your libraries, your nursing homes or any other spot you think would be ripe for a gathering of 10-20 people (or more - that’s up to you) who would enjoy an hour or so of the sort of thing you have come to expect here on my Substack.

Silly stories, passive aggressive poems, original harp music, and moments of honesty.

First, let’s talk about money.

I don’t care too much about the money.

I’m happy to make this part of my mission to spread joy without the need for remuneration.

I will be responsible for my own travel expenses and lodging and food.

If, after all is said and done, some of those in attendance would like to buy books or pass the hat for a small stipend – that’s up to you and to them.

Next, let’s talk about audience.

The audience I’m hoping to reach are you, your family, your book club, your friends and neighbors.

It doesn’t matter really how big or small – only that it’s a group of folks that would have a good time. I’ve done house concerts and book clubs that were as few as ten people and concert venues seating many many more. I adapt to whatever the environment is.

Lastly, let’s talk about logistics.

The big caveat is I have to be able to reach you by driving. (As you can imagine, getting a big fat harp onto an airplane is a nightmare.) It’s OK if you are several states away if I can arrange other stops along the way. For instance, if you want to bring me to California, I would need to be able to make the trip mesh with other stops between WI and CA – like Colorado, Arizona, New Mexico etc. The same would be true for Maine or Florida or Seattle – if we can come up with a few other concerts en route over the course of a week or ten days – I’m up for considering it.

I don’t know if we will be able to pull this off because I’ve never tried anything like it before. Usually any shows I do come through more traditional channels and involve fees and contracts and such like. But I’ve been feeling a need for a change in the way I do things and this is part of it.

If you would like me to come to your area, please contact me - either by messaging me here on Substack or posting in the comments on any post.

I’d love to see what we can make together.

Because…
