Issue #52 Sticky And Stuck
And…
This is not going to be your day.
Somehow, you know it the minute you wake up.
The universe gives you a nudge.
Everything feels a little off.
But you have plans.
You soldier on.
You clean up the spilled yogurt from the floor after you drop the container.
It’s a little thing. A nothing. A mere bagatelle.
You refuse to see it as the first failure of many.
The important paperwork you will forget to take to that meeting…
The socks that are, almost, but not quite, a matched pair…
That thing you will say to your boss that you really should not have said out loud…
The umbrella you will need at 5:00 pm but will not have…
You should go home.
The universe is telling you to go home.
To curl up with a good book and put this day out of its misery.
But you don’t listen.
Instead, you go shopping.
And find yourself wriggling and squirming and contorting your body every which way to escape this dress.
The dress that almost, but not quite, fits with the zipper that has lodged itself firmly out of reach.
The dress that you desperately need to extricate yourself from because it didn’t look good on you anyway and it’s too expensive to just rip and pay for.
All paths today led to this moment.
You were warned.

Thank You!
A big “Thank You” to everyone who came out to Bowls and Books! It was a great event and a successful fundraiser for the Rhode Opera House.
And a special thank you to those who bought my book!
It’s Not All Fun And Games
The daffodils and tulips and bluebells and hyacinths and all the other lovely flowers inhabiting my garden are not the only plants that are growing like gangbusters.
This wretched weed - I don’t know what it is exactly but it’s murder to dig out - is extremely happy.
Smug even.
Keep The Messages Coming!
