Issue #4 Warm Weather And Pajamas
Confession
The non-cartoonists mostly had jobs where they had to leave the house and interact with people.
And get dressed.
Cartoonists were mostly working from home in relative solitude or maybe, possibly, in a snazzy private studio, also in solitude. (Some of them worked from little closets in their house that were the only place they could get some peace and quiet but that’s a story for another time.)
And so, cartoonists could go for weeks without getting out of their pajamas. (I know many who I’m not sure own any other kind of clothes.)
When I wrote this poem, I had a foot in each world.
For harp stuff I had to get dressed and even look professional. Including, most of the time, jewelry and the ever-dreaded shapewear. But for my writing and cartooning - well, you guessed it, pajamas.
Along came Covid.
And the days became:
Pajamas
Pajamas
Pajamas
Workout Clothes
Nice looking top for Zoom - plus jewelry
Pajamas
Pajamas
You will notice an absence of shapewear.
Basically, for most of 2020, a lot of us got to live like cartoonists.
Some of us never looked back.

I recorded this back in my frenzy of Covid productivity. I leave you to guess whether or not I am in my pajamas…

From The Garden
The crocuses are usually the first thing that bursts into full bloom. I used to have lots of them but over the years they have petered out, leaving me this one little patch.
The little patch brings me as much joy as a field - blooming is blooming and color is color!
