Issue #27 Changing Seasons And Small Windfalls
Chill Out
It’s an interesting time of year.
The calendar says that Summer has gone and Fall is here but in my neck of the woods we are still experiencing some lovely warm weather.
Not consistently, mind you. We get wild swings where one day the high temp might be 77° F and the next it’s 50°.
As I navigate my wardrobe for such a wide range, I find myself digging out the jackets that have been hiding in the recesses of the closet awaiting their Autumn summons.
Sometimes there are little treasures from the last wearing in the pockets and, if I’m lucky, that includes a dollar bill or two.
Or, as mentioned above, an N95 mask.
How our lives have changed.
It’s also time to grab the final opportunities to enjoy the backyard firepit.
I love a good campfire. There is something peaceful about the crackling flames and the smell takes me back through hundreds of fond memories of special times shared with family and friends.
It’s not just the fire itself. It’s the quiet space away from the rest of my busy life. A moment to unplug and just “be”.
I’m going to do my best to make the most of it.
Wine optional.
