We’ve all done it.
That thing where you stand in front of the mirror trying on everything in your closet in search of the perfect “look”.
The amount of care I take putting together an outfit has a lot to do with how likely it is that I will be photographed and thrown up onto the internet for public scrutiny.
If I think being “shared” on Facebook is a likelihood, the process can actually take more than a day with the couture options running from the sassy, cute pants that only look good when I haven’t eaten potato chips in weeks to the fallback “I shouldn’t have had that pie” caftan.
So you can imagine how I feel when, after all that trial and tribulation, someone comes up to me at the swanky event and plucks a dog hair off my shoulder.
Which, sadly, is more likely to happen than not.
Because I live with these two adorable hair factories.
Their fur actually detaches itself and wafts through the air looking for my sweaters at all times.
I’ve seriously considered investing in a wardrobe that consists of nothing but collie colors in an effort to at least camouflage their contributions.
Ah, c’est la vie.
At the end of the day I’ll take the puppy love over my vanity.

Speaking Of Dressing Up…
Me and Wayno of "Bizzaro" fame at Nancyfest
I love this photo.
A: Wayno is a very cool cat and any chance to connect with him is a good time
B: no dog hair in sight
C: that awesome word balloon
D: I love the thought that Wayno and I are so noteworthy that the official photographer is happy to take a picture of the backs of our heads
The hubby and I were delighted to attend “Nancyfest” at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum over the Memorial Day weekend.
It was a terrific event that included a gallery show, a reception that featured the first “Hot Dog” bar I’ve met, and cool programming all centered around the comic strip “Nancy”.
Getting together with cartoonists is one of our favorite things - for people who make a living in comedy, meeting up with other people who do that is like getting extra oxygen.
This weekend was a badly needed hit of oxygen!
Speaking Of Dog Hair
Hair removing tool, before pic, after pic.
One of the things on my “to do” list before we headed over to Ohio for Nancyfest was to seriously clean out my van. (You never know who might need a ride to or from an event.)
For years I leased vehicles for business purposes and, when you are returning them to the dealer, it’s important to get things as clean as possible so you don’t get nicked with a lot of “detailing” fees. The hair that stuck to the floor mats was a particularly tough challenge.
Until now.
I had originally bought the tool you see in the photo for sweaters and coats but it turns out it is the thing for getting that stubborn hair out of automobile floor mats. I couldn’t believe what a good job it did. I’ve done my best to post before and after but the lighting was different in the different pictures. The tools are super cheap and my van looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor
You can buy them at Amazon here.
Next Book - Almost Here!
The book is almost headed to the printer! I’m still collecting pre-orders.
No money required at this time - just a note to tell me to set one (or more) aside for you.

Weeds Be Gone
We took advantage of some nice weather and pulled all those nasty weeds I showed you last week. And the tomatoes and peppers have been installed and the “keep the dogs from peeing on everything” fence is in place.
This “fence” is actually three 4 foot high “dog pens” opened up and linked together. They make a great modular fence that you can move around as needed and it’s high enough that the dogs can’t jump it. It’s also slightly wiggly which makes them nervous so they don’t try to push through it either.
