#57 Potential Disasters And A Garden Hack
You’ve done it.
We’ve all done it.
We’ve yanked.
That stubborn vacuum cord that is snagged on something just outside your range of vision.
The lamp cord that won’t come out of the outlet.
That rug that isn’t quite where you want it.
The thing you thought was super firmly stuck but turned out to be only pretending.
And the result of your over zealous efforts have either led to a resounding crash or suddenly landed you on your derriere.
Or both.
I have lost track of the calamities that have followed my impatient, or just plain pissed off, tendency to just throw caution to the wind and pull something as hard as I can.
I know that in such situations I should be calming down - gathering my inner “zen” - and exhibiting the traits of a mature, level headed grown up.
Yes, well…

Just A Suggestion…
Here’s my garden hack for the day.
I’m not quite ready to actually stake tomatoes since I only bought the seedlings yesterday. Added to that, our local micro-climate is such that any warm weather crops planted before June 1st tend to get zapped. Or eaten by cut worms.
But once those babies are ready to go into the ground, I’ll be looking for things to stabilize them.
And, since I don’t think I’ve hit a golf ball since 1998, the days of my clubs continuing to simply gather dust in the basement might be numbered.
Do YOU have something gathering dust that could have a new, albeit unorthodox, life in your backyard?
Next Book - Pre-orders
The pre-orders for my next book are rolling in - thank you so much!
Just to be clear - this is just an opportunity for you to get on the list and help me figure out how many books to order from the printer.
I don’t need any money from you - just an indication that you are going to want a copy (or a few copies).
To get on the list, either drop a comment below or message me at anne@anneandgod.com
My Favorite Tree
When we bought our house it had a beautiful birch out front. Sadly, it succumbed to borers and had to be taken down.
We were advised that a nice replacement could be an Eastern Redbud.
I’m so grateful for that suggestion - this tree has become a real beauty and one of my favorite things to watch in the spring as the blooms burst forth.
Mother’s Day
Mother’s day is around the corner.
This is one of my favorite pictures of me and my mother and paternal grandmother.
(Despite the cigarette I just noticed now after decades of not seeing it…)
